An Evening with Tommy Peoples

The performance programme of Fleadh Nua 2009 will draw to a close with a recital by the internationally acclaimed fiddle player, Tommy Peoples. Tommy will be joined on the night by the well known guitar player, Alph Duggan.
Tommy Peoples has been an iconic figure in traditional music for over three decades. Originally from Co. Donegal, he has played with the legendary Bothy Band and with The Kilfenora Band. He has released a number of solo albums, as well as albums with Matt Molloy and Paul Brady.
The Quiet Glen, an album released by Tommy in 1998, with Alph Duggan on guitar, revealed him as an accomplished composer - 17 of the tunes played on the album are his own compositions.
In 1998, he was the first recipient of the TG4 award for traditional music (Gradam Ceoil) and we look forward to his performance at Fleadh Nua 2009.
