Singers Club
The Fleadh Nua Singers Club will be hosted by the Ennis Singers Club - lead by the Evergreen Club President Robbie McMahon of Spancilhill. Others members are Maire Ui Dhonnachadh, Michael O'Brien, Paddy Commane, Jimmy Frawley and Fear an Ti, Peadar McNamara.
Friday May 29th at 9.30pm - Jerry Lynch
Jerry comes from Kilfenora in North Clare and is one of Clare's outstanding tenors. He has sung with the Kilfenora Ceili Band of which his brothers John and Pat are members. He has performed with the band at St. Patrick's Day Events in Dublin - in the National Concert Hall and the RDS. His recording of Cormac McConnell's 'Silent Night Christmas 1915' reached the top 20. His first CD 'The Dimming of the Day' has been followed by 'Till We Meet Again'. His singing has been broadcast on local and national radio stations.
Saturday May 30th at 3pm - Cristoir O'hAounghuis
Cristoir comes from Kildare and sings the repetoir of popular songs in Gaelic. He was introduced to traditional singing by John and Bridget Tunny of the famous singing family. He is a frequent visitor to Gweedore and to Clare, especially Robbie McMahon's First Friday Singing Session at Duggans Pub in Spancilhill. Cristoir has been a regular attender at the Fleadh Nua Singers Club in recent years.
